Wounds Australia Board updates
Thursday, 24 October 2024

At a meeting of the Wounds Australia Board on 23 October 2024, the following changes were made to its composition.

Associate Professor Christina Parker had been filling a director vacancy on a temporary basis following a Board appointment in July 2024. Christina was the only nomination received during a nomination period between 1-13 September, resulting in her unchallenged appointment to the Wounds Australia Board at the AGM. We hope you will join us in congratulating Christina.

Dr Peta Tehan was appointed by the Board to fill a casual vacancy. Peta is a longstanding member and has volunteered her time and expertise in various capacities over the years, including her current role of Joint Editor of Wound Practice and Research Journal.

Pharmacist Cindy-Lee has been appointed as an independent director, joining the Board on 9 December. More details will follow then.

Thank you to departing Directors

Leaving the Board are Chair Simon DePaoli and Director Jeyda Shiaxiates. Of Jeyda's departure, Simon said: "The Board would like to thank Jeyda Shiaxiates for her valuable contribution to Wounds Australia over the past 18 months. Jeyda's knowledge of and experience in the Pharmacy sector has provided our CEO Jeff and the Board great insights."

Simon is leaving the Board on 25 October after six years of service, including the past year as Chairperson. Read more about Simon's time on the Board.
