Expressions of Interest in joining the Wounds Australia Research Committee are now open to our members. 

This is your opportunity to apply your knowledge and expertise to guiding the future of wound care research in Australia. The Research Committee provides strategic direction for research-related activities led by Wounds Australia and research-related advice, guidance and recommendations to the Wounds Australia Board and CEO. 

Successful applicants will join some of the most respected names in Australian wound care research, capably chaired by Associate Professor Christina Parker of the Queensland University of Technology. Explore the Committee. Members will be appointed for a term of two years and may serve a maximum of three terms (six years in total). 

Your commitment 

  • Quarterly after-hours online meetings 
  • A commitment of around two hours per week 
  • The volunteering of your knowledge and expertise in assessing grant applications, conference poster presentations, and other matters requiring academic/professional oversight.

About you 

You are an established, mid-career or emerging researcher working in the wound care sector in Australia or beyond, an enthusiastic professional keen to share your perspective on the critical issues facing the sector. The Committee only accepts applications from current Wounds Australia members.

Joining us on the Gold Coast in October? Please come along to the Wounds Australia Research Committee session, 'The Science of Healing: Advancing Wound Care through Research', on Wednesday 16 October, 1-2.30pm, to find out more. We'll be presenting the results of research funded through Wounds Australia Research Grants, meeting the incredible minds behind the work and announcing winners of 2024 grants worth $5000 and $10,000. 

Additionally, Research Committee members will be attending the Conference and happy to answer your questions. Enquire at the Wounds Australia Stand.

  • Your background and interest in wound care research. 

Please attach to the email a Curriculum Vitae of no more than two pages.
